It flows smoother off a fishing reel allowing for longer casts and its strength gives you an advantage over monofilament or fluorocarbon line (although some may argue this is not the case)
Whether you're battling a fierce offshore game or enjoying a calm day at sea, the Shimano 23 Backbone Elite Overhead Rod is your ideal companion, offering unparalleled performance and reliability at a great price
Whichever reel you choose to buy make sure you are happy with it and it suits your outfit and requirements well and your time on the water will be so much more fun
You can also let the stinger swing freely if you are struggling to make a catch
Thicker monofilament is also great for stripping and is easier for handling the loose line when a good fish hits towards the end of a long retrieve and then takes off
